When the dam breaks, and everything crashes in around you; the addiction seems to swallow you up. We have to remind ourselves that it is okay to reach out to get help. If you were drowning you would want someone to throw you a life preserver.
Even when you feel like you can’t recover, let someone come alongside you and walk with you during your darkest moments. Perhaps you hadn’t realized how bad it had gotten until “the dam breaks” so to speak, do not let embarrassment or fear keep you from getting the help that you desperately need.
Enroll in addiction rehabilitation treatment and during recovery find the right fit at a sober living home. You do not have to do any of this alone. There are many people who will be your support if you just ask!
